Chris Worlton

Chris Worlton, PMHNP-BC

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Chris Worlton got his start with the Betts Psychiatric team in spring 2018. Chris is a native Oregonian, and has studied throughout the Pacific Northwest; he earned his Associate's degree at Lane Community College, his Bachelor's degree at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), and most recently, his Master's as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at Gonzaga University.

Before entering the healthcare field, Chris worked as a machinist and is proud to have come from a blue-collar background. As an RN, Chris gained 4+ years of experience working with in-patient drug and alcohol treatment programs, providing him with a well-rounded understanding of substance abuse, addiction, PTSD, depression, anxiety, and personality disorders. He also worked at PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend for 7 years, 6 of which he spent in the Intensive Care Unit. He believes that all people deserve the same quality of care and education opportunities to better themselves. Chris believes in the treatment of the mind, body, and spirit. He is devoted to helping others and preserving this beautiful planet.

When he's not working, Chris enjoys outdoor activities, especially riding motorcycles, boating, fly-fishing, and camping. He has a passion for music (he has served as the lead singer of several local bands!). He also enjoys exploring ancient cultures and looks forward to traveling to other countries in the future.

Amie Pierce

Amie Pierce, PMHNP-BC

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Amie is a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC). Over the last two decades, she has worked her way up through the ranks. She started out working as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). She did this for ten years in long term care, home health, and hospital settings. And then she earned her nursing (RN) degree in 2012 from Umpqua Community College. As an RN Amie worked in long-term care and hospitals, as a staff nurse and case manager. She went on to get her bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from Northwest Christian University (now called Bushnell University), before becoming a PMHNP-BC.

Amie moved to the pacific northwest a little over 20 years ago and loves this area. In her time off, she enjoys spending time outdoors or working in her garden. She also enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, camping, gardening, learning, traveling with her two pups, husband and two adult children.

She kind of stumbled into the health care field. But time and experience has shown her, it fits who she is and helps her make a positive impact. Her background of more than 20 years in healthcare experience has provided her with a well-rounded education of the healthcare system and how it works. She feels it is important to participate in your mental health and seek help when needed without judgement.

In addition to her practical experience, Amie has a unique ability to connect with individuals, has a capacity to understand them, the empathy to meet them where they are, and a good sense of humor. When working with Amie, you have a straightforward, dedicated ally on your side.

The first meeting will include a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, determination of treatment goals and collaborative plan diagnosis and available treatments.
